CHANGEOVER 2018

This week we celebrated our Changeover Dinner on Wednesday Night at the Bowral Bowling Club.   44 Rotarians and guests enjoyed a MAfO (Medical Aid for Oceania) inspired menu and decorations.  Guests included Past District Governor Bill Seelis, Assistant Governor Ian Langford, Lynton Kettle, President of the Bowral Mittagong Rotary Club, Terry Oakes-Ash (Interchange Australia), Ross Craig (Rotary Club of Moss Vale), Ros Dale and Colin Westman (Rotary Club of Sydney).
Richard Krohn was our MC for the evening, Shelley Boyce proposed the Rotary Grace and Mat Froome proposed the toast to Rotary International.  PDG Bill Seelis responded.  After our entrée Barry Barford, our International Director,  gave us a brief presentation on MAfO, followed by a short video which will be available on our website.

I presented the Club Report.  There were copies on each table and a version is available on Club Runner and Facebook and attached to this Banter for those where were unable to attend the Changeover.  I mentioned the Highlights of the Year focussing on Youth Projects which are very dear to my heart.  I informed PDG Bill Seelis that $500 had been transferred to the Children’s Emergency Fund and then inducted Mignon Aistrophe.  Min has transferred her membership from the Rotary Club of Bourke to the Rotary Club of Berrima District.

John Macpherson and Frank Rodrigues then presented Rotarian Martin Fenaughty and historian Ros Dale with Paul Harris Fellowships for their service to Rotary.
I then expressed my gratitude to the members of the outgoing Board and gave special thanks to Rotarians John Macpherson (for his help and advice), Melissa Meredith (for having the most infectious can do attitude and always her back) and John Smythe (for being the keeper of protocol) and then handed over the Chains of office and inducted the new President – Derek White.

Derek concluded the Changeover Dinner with a synopsis of what her plans for his presidential year and general thank you to all those who were present.
