Carisa Wells
Palliative Care and the Southern Highlands Community Hospice

Carisa Wells is the General Manager of the Southern Highlands Community Hospice
and has been since October 2017. With a background in business management and
development it was her personal interest in Palliative Care that drew her to the role.

Educated in Goulburn NSW and growing up on a Merino sheep stud, she moved to
Sydney straight after school. But it was when Carisa relocated with her daughter from
Sydney to Bowral in July 2017 that she finally feels at home. A passionate advocate for
regional Australia she’s a member of the Bowral CWA and the Moss Vale and Rural
Chamber of Commerce.

She will cover - what is Palliative Care? How it benefits the patient and carer/s?
The benefits to the Health system. Why do we
need more Palliative Care services in the Southern Highlands? What progress the project
has made? What 2019 looks like for SHC Hospice? How can you help?
